• NextEra Energy, FPL’s parent, said in an earnings call Friday that it is in discussions to bring 30 data center electricity supply hubs to market and is in advanced discussions to supply 12 gigawatts — enough to power millions of homes — to large data center customers in Florida. 🐢 Florida’s gopher tortoise has been moved on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List from “vulnerable” to “critically endangered.” The group estimated in 2024 that the tortoise population had decreased by 80% over the past three generations.
