Celebrate fall in Palm Beach County with one of these favorite things to do.

  1. Vintage sale returns

The Rust Market season 7 kick-off is 9 am to 2 pm Saturday in downtown Lake Park. This monthly market hosted by Kelsey Vintage Goods features vintage, antique and repurposed items, as well as handcrafted goods, artisan-made specialties and flea market treasures. Pet- and kid-friendly, the market offers brunch, beer, cocktails and mimosas from Locale Gastropub and The Brewhouse Gallery.

The Rust Market takes place on the third Saturday of every month through April in the front parking lot and the alley behind 700 Park Ave. Admission is free. Vendor space is available beginning at $35. Get details or reserve a space by email at jfurman@kelseyvintage.com or contact Jesse at 561-543-6304. Instagram: @therustmarket.

  1. Riviera Beach: 102 years young

Wish Riviera Beach a happy birthday! The city was incorporated on Sept. 29, 1922. A family fun night is planned to mark the occasion with food trucks, a kids fun zone, music and a drone show.

The party is from 6:30 to 9:30 pm Friday, Sept. 27, at the Marina Event Center, 190 E. 13th St. Volunteers and vendors can contact Valerie Grimsley at vgrimsley@rivierabeach.org or 561-812-6598.

  1. On the road with Hootie

Hootie and the Blowfish bring the “Summer Camp with Trucks Tour” to West Palm Beach on Sept. 28. The band blasted onto the scene 30 years ago with one of the best-selling albums of all time: “Cracked Rear View,” which sold nearly 15 million copies and was certified platinum 22 times. Fans have been clamoring for a reunion tour for years but lead singer Darius Rucker has been super-busy on the country music circuit, releasing his first album in 2008 and his sixth country studio album, Carolyn’s Boy, in 2023.

iThink Financial Amphitheatre is at 601 Sansburys Way, West Palm Beach. Tickets for the lawn start at $35.30. Reserved seating starts at $67.45. Get tickets at www.ticketmaster.com.

  1. Your neighbors sell their extra stuff

The Palm Beach Gardens Community Outdoor Yard Sale is coming up from 8 am to 1 pm Sunday, Sept. 29, at the Gardens GreenMarket at City Hall, 10500 N. Military Trail. Promoters boast “a diverse selection of unique items and hidden treasures” at bargain prices.

For shopper or vendor information, call 561-630-1100 or email recinfo@pbgfl.com. www.pbgfl.com/events.

  1. By Jove, they’re back!

The Jove Comedy Experience, a comedic trio, is celebrating its 20th anniversary as a troupe with two shows at the Lighthouse Theater in Jupiter on Oct. 11-12. Featuring the talents of Frank Licari, Jesse Furman and Travis Thomas, the Jove Comedy Experience bills itself as South Florida’s longest-running improv and sketch comedy show. The shows take place at 8 pm Friday, Oct. 11, and 7 pm Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Lighthouse Theater, 6743 Indiantown Road. Formerly known as the theater at Performing Arts Academy of Jupiter, the theater offers improv and sketch comedy, stand-up comedy, musicals, theater and children’s theater. Get tickets, $22, at 561-575-4422 or online

6. 50 years of German culture

The American German Club of the Palm Beaches hosts the 50th annual Oktoberfest, which takes place over two weekends: Oct. 11-13 and Oct. 18-20. This family-friendly festival features entertainment and a carnival, but most people come for the authentic German food and beer. Schnitzel, goulash, pickled herring, bratwurst and leberkase (Bavarian meatloaf on a roll) is served alongside American favorites like cheeseburgers and chicken tenders. Beers from Paulaner, from pilsner to Oktoberfest Marzen, and Hacker Pschorr Munich Gold and Munich Dunkel are offered, plus schnaps, Kleiner Feigling (FigVodka) and specialty Jägermeister cocktails.

The Heldensteiner Band from Germany, which plays Oktoberfest in Munich, performs German favorites (yes, including the Chicken Dance) both weekends. In the clubhouse, you’ll find the Terry Cavanaugh Duo Oct. 11-13 and the Sherri and Larry Band Oct. 18-20.

Tickets are only available at www.eventbrite.com and are date specific. Tickets are $10 for adults until the day before and $20 the day of the event. Tickets for kids ages 7-14 are $7, and kids younger than 7 get in free.

Parking is always limited, so organizers recommend patrons take an Uber or Lyft. On Saturday and Sunday, parking is available with free trolley service at  Diamond View Elementary, Heritage Elementary and Tradewinds Middle School. Parking on site and at Buttonwood Park is $20. The American German Club is at 5111 Lantana Road, Lake Worth. Call 561-967-7474 for more information.
